Once in a blue moon, I am grateful that a company exists. Westjet, for example - giving western canadians the opportunity to make it home for christmas without busting the bank.  Firefox.  And Starbucks (c'mon.  would we have the gorgeous coffee culture we do, without them?  maybe, but I'm not sure).   

As I was reviewing my invoice from Workspace, I realized how completely I am convinced that I am getting value for my dollar there - and unabashedly add Workspace, truly a better place to work, to my list of "two big thumbs up companies".

Bill, Dane, Kristin -- thanks for all you put into Workspace.  It has become greater than the sum of all its parts, and I think it rocks.

Unlike Kevin, who rocked his D.Den audition, I got eaten alive and spat out! OUCH!  The whole gory transcript (as best as I can remember it, in my shell-shock) (www.virm.com/yourmoneybydesign - sorry, link function not working right now?) is a kinda fun read, but in short, it was sort of like turning up for American Idol, but not getting the chance to sing!
It devolved into an argument about whether I should have gone to a debt counsellor (graduated from UBC with about $25K in student loan debt) fifteen years ago or not.   ARGH!  My whole point was going to be, that despite starting out with that stone around my neck, after a couple harsh financial experiences, I figured out how to manage my money and got things dramatically turned around.
But did I get to describe that part?  NO.  It got stuck in a:Dragon: You're a debt counsellor.Me: No, I'm not.  I'm a money coach!Dragon: No, if you were in $25K debt, you should have gone to a debt counsellor yourself.
You get the idea.
It wasn't pretty, but I can laugh about it ...

enjoyed reading your respective blogs!  I guess I'm the total nerd in the group:  don't even have a laptop, my desktop is PC, my cel is only a cel (no photos even!) and I only just got my first nano yesterday (and it's only 2g).

I live pretty much next door, and absolutely love this neighbourhood:  the shunts of the trains, the port, the socio-economic mix.   I attend St. James (that big white monolith on Gore and Cordova), I have coffee at Blakes and get lost at Inform.  Now I'm happy to have a work home, in the evenings.
