We're Now Open Saturdays
Submitted by Bill MacEwen on Fri, 01/12/2007 - 19:41.
The good news is WorkSpace is now open on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm. Starting tomorrow, you can come by your favorite Vancouver office for your lattes and all the other great things we do.
The bad news is, we will be closing at 7pm instead of 8pm on weekdays :(
I should mention, we are always 24/7 for members.

Introduction

Hey there, everyone --
enjoyed reading your respective blogs! I guess I'm the total nerd in the group: don't even have a laptop, my desktop is PC, my cel is only a cel (no photos even!) and I only just got my first nano yesterday (and it's only 2g).
I'm a money coach - I help people become really savvy handling their day to day finances. How I got here is a story you can read on my website. Your Money by Design.com Check out the 'coach's stories' page and there the story is in all its gore.
I live pretty much next door, and absolutely love this neighbourhood: the shunts of the trains, the port, the socio-economic mix. I attend St. James (that big white monolith on Gore and Cordova), I have coffee at Blakes and get lost at Inform. Now I'm happy to have a work home, in the evenings.

Writing My Thesis
Submitted by supersusie on Wed, 01/10/2007 - 16:47.
hi all. i'm using my time here at workspace to work on my long-delayed thesis (and to blog on the workspace site, apparently). my academic area is public art studies. yes, that is the study of statues in parks and similar sorts of efforts. my thesis is about public art projects as done by cities and how internet components can be introduced into them, or even projects done by a city entirely on the internet. many city councils have written guidelines that are largely about putting tangible items in public spaces, but of course the web is a perfectly valid public medium if it can be defended to the city council.

Better Late Than Never?
Submitted by Diane Haynes on Wed, 01/10/2007 - 16:16.
I was in the mall in the summer (hey ... remember summer?), minding my own business and enjoying a coffee and a muffin in a cosy sit-down bakery, when a young woman and her friends sat down at the table next to me. As I took a bite of muffin, I caught sight of movement in my peripheral vision. Movement where there should have been no movement. Movement where a pendant necklace might hang, where a front-closure bra might close. With me?
I had to look. And there, between the chimichangas, was a chihuahua. A puppy, mind you, not full grown, but still .... I mean, doesn't anybody just keep handkerchiefs there any more?
Is it just me, or is anybody else worried about the number of "accessory dogs" that are going to end up in rescue shelters over the next while? And that's if they're lucky.
I wrote WHEN I'M 64 The Song of the Christmas Pet for the CBC website ...

mmmmmmmmmmm iphone
Submitted by Bill MacEwen on Tue, 01/09/2007 - 18:19.
There were many bodies huddled about the imac today all oogly-eyed over the new iphone. We're probably 3/4 mac at WorkSpace, and anyone who isn't running a Mac gets hassled. By the time August rolls around if anyone's left using a razor, it'll be hard times indeed.

Welcome back to Work

Well, we certainly brought in the new year with a bang. Nearly 300 people showed up at WorkSpace to get down with 07. Yes we do have photos, but no you can't see them...they are incriminating. Just ask lego-santa. He was there.

Hi everyone,
This morning, I received an email from a Japanese friend of mine about the Chinese Zodiac. For those of you who are curious about how your 2007 would unfold, check out the following sites. According to him, 2007 is the Year of the Pig. hmm... Enjoy.
