Welcome Kristin
Submitted by Dane Brown on Mon, 09/11/2006 - 13:35.
I want to officially welcome Kristin, the newest member of the WorkSpace team. She spent the past year in Norway but is back in the country and ready to help us take things to the next level here in Gastown. Kristin has a sociology/psychology degree and is an experienced barista. She came on board last week and has been doing great work since day one. We're definitely lucky to have her. If you haven't already, be sure to say hi next time you see her behind the counter.

This coming Monday is Labour Day and, as such, the cafe at WorkSpace will be closed so that the staff can celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers the world over. Also, we're going to sleep in and maybe do something outside before the rainy season begins.
For those of you who plan to get some work done on the holiday, as always, WorkSpace will still be open to members. Just use your access card to enter.
Have a fantastic long weekend!

We have been a little slow with the follow-up on BarCamp but luckily many other people picked up the slack. It was an amazing event and we had a great time hosting. We even left the schedule of sessions up on the wall as a reminder of how crazy/fun the day was.
Thanks Todd!
Submitted by Dane Brown on Thu, 08/24/2006 - 16:06.
Todd Sieling, a member here at WorkSpace, wrote a lovely post on his company blog about the space and his impressions of it after working here for the first time on Tuesday. I want to thank Todd for the kind words and encourage people to check out his Corvus Consulting blog. Todd is a very eloquent writer and the design is immaculate.
Thanks again!

Prepping for BarCamp
Submitted by Dane Brown on Thu, 08/24/2006 - 12:37.
BarCamp Vancouver is only a day away and we're thrilled to be hosting. Ianiv dropped by yesterday and is back today adding a couple of extra wireless access points. That's him in the background slaving away while I play with Photo Booth on the iMac.
BarCamp is "sold out" but to learn more about it check out the BarCamp Vancouver site.

The City TV morning show Breakfast TV will be filming a live segment at WorkSpace this Wednesday August 23rd from 7:00am to 9:00am. We want to turn it into an early morning party. Free espresso and donuts for all! It would be great if people could be here by 7:00am but if you can make it at all we'd love to have you.
